About Michael Viskovich, M.S.
Originally from the west side of Manhattan, I completed undergraduate
and graduate degrees in the field of psychology from St. John's
University, with year internships in applied behavioral therapy at
Queen's Children's Psychiatric Center (New York State training
program) and school psychology within the New Rochelle, New York
Public School System.
I have been a licensed psychologist in Pennsylvania since 1986 and
have worked in both private practice and the non-profit sector.
Serving as staff psychologist and clinical director for Children's Home
of Reading Youth and Family Services Inc. for over twenty years, I
have developed and supervised treatment programs for very
diverse and challenging adolescent and adult populations
including drug and alcohol, maternal substance abuse, delinquent
day treatment and residential mental health.
I have extensive private practice experience with individual adult
psychotherapy, marital as well as family therapy. Child and adolescent
mood, behavior and attention deficit disorders have accounted for
almost half of my practice in the past.
In therapy, I view my role as an educator and catalyst. I employ a very
common sense, practical problem solving and direct approach. My
commitment is to helping clients resolve psychological and
interpersonal problems in order to enhance their sense of well being
and promote growth and life satisfaction.
On a personal note, I have been married since 1987, and after more
than a decade of family vacations to the lowcountry, we as a family
decided to relocate in 2008. My wife teaches in the Beaufort County
School District, two daughters attend college in South Carolina, and a
son is enrolled in Bluffton High. I am pleased to have joined the
practice of Helene Stoller, Psy.D. and will work under her supervision
to effectively meet the needs of clients in the community.
